What is rmo?
What it is: rmo is a browser extension plus a web dashboard that remote-controls media tabs in your desktop browser.
Who it's for: people who play media in a desktop browser — YouTube, Spotify, Netflix, Twitch — and want to control playback from their phone, for example from the couch.
What it does: it lists every media tab across your browsers and lets you hit play, pause, next, previous, mute, like, shuffle, or repeat — from your phone.
Is rmo right for me?
It depends on where your media plays. If you watch YouTube or Netflix, or listen to Spotify or Apple Music, in a desktop Chrome browser and want play, pause, next, and volume from your phone without getting up, rmo fits. If your media plays in native desktop apps instead of browser tabs, rmo can't see it — it only sees browser tabs. And if you never step away from your desk while media plays, you don't need a remote.
How it works
- Install the browser extension and sign in with your Google account.
- Open the dashboard at rmo.io on your phone.
- See every media tab across your browsers, and control playback from the couch.
What it controls
As of October 2026, rmo extension v1.2.15 controls YouTube, YouTube Music, SoundCloud, Spotify, X, Netflix, Twitch, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Disney+, plus any tab's announced media controls (captions, volume) where the site exposes them.
